Recuérdame is a ritual oil created for grief, remembrance, ancestral connection, and love that continues beyond death.

Its name means “Remember Me.” At the heart of Día de los Muertos is remembrance—the act of speaking the names of those who have died, placing their photographs on the ofrenda, preparing the things they loved, telling their stories, and allowing memory to become something active rather than something quietly carried alone.

Recuérdame was created for that space.

This is not primarily a spirit-calling oil. It is for maintaining the relationship between memory, love, and the dead: honoring ancestors, remembering family and friends who have passed, tending grief, and creating intentional moments of connection with the people whose presence continues to shape our lives.

Grief and remembrance aren't opposites. Sometimes remembering hurts. Sometimes it makes you laugh. Sometimes years later you can still hear someone's voice perfectly or remember exactly how their house smelled. Día de los Muertos makes room for all of it—for grief and joy to exist beside one another and for death not to require us to stop loving someone.

It combines flowers and herbs selected for remembrance, love, peace, ancestral work, and devotion with resins and tobacco that give the formula a deeper ceremonial character.

Recuérdame contains a layered botanical blend selected around memory, enduring love, peace, grief, devotion, and connection with the dead.

Featured ingredients include Rosemary, Rose, Cempasúchil, Heather, Lavender, Myrrh, Tobacco, Frankincense, Copal, and Chamomile.

Rosemary sits at the heart of the formula as an herb of remembrance, while rose represents the love that remains after someone has passed. Lavender and chamomile bring gentleness and peace to work that can carry heavy emotion, while heather supports the formula's themes of memory and connection.

Cempasúchil ties Recuérdame directly to Día de los Muertos and the flowers used to welcome and honor the dead. Myrrh, frankincense, and copal deepen the formula's ceremonial and devotional character, while tobacco is included as an offering-oriented component within the work.

Together, these ingredients create an oil intended not to erase grief, but to give that grief somewhere sacred to go.

Recuérdame smells like flowers, old wood, warm amber, incense, and something sweet lingering in the background—a fragrance intended to feel nostalgic and intimate rather than overtly funereal.

Rose and lavender give the fragrance its floral heart, while amber, cedarwood, and amyris create a warm, softly woody foundation. Caramelized praline and vanilla appear underneath in small amounts, adding a subtle sweetness and familiarity rather than turning the fragrance gourmand.

How to Use

For an ofrenda or remembrance altar:

Use Recuérdame to dress memorial candles or anoint appropriate photographs, frames, petitions, altar tools, and remembrance objects. It can be incorporated while placing offerings, arranging photographs, speaking someone's name, or preparing an ofrenda for Día de los Muertos.

For ancestor and beloved-dead work:

Use while praying, writing letters to the dead, researching your family history, telling family stories, looking through photographs, or intentionally spending time with the memory of someone who has passed.

For grief and remembrance:

Recuérdame can also be used outside Día de los Muertos whenever you want to create intentional space for someone you miss—on a birthday, anniversary, holiday, or simply on a day when their absence feels particularly close.

The purpose isn't to “move on” from the dead.

Sometimes the work is simply learning how to carry the love forward.

About This Collection

This collection is for everyone. You do not have to be Mexican or Hispanic to honor your dead, remember the people you love, or find meaning in these traditions. But being welcomed into another culture comes with a responsibility to respect it—to learn where these traditions come from, honor the people who have carried them, listen to and elevate the voices of those within that culture, and embrace the culture rather than separating the beautiful parts from the people they belong to.
