Description

Ofrenda is a ritual oil created for preparing, dedicating, and protecting sacred space for the dead. Made specifically with Día de los Muertos altar work in mind, it is intended for the place where remembrance becomes physical—where photographs are placed, candles are lit, flowers are arranged, favorite foods and drinks are offered, and space is intentionally made for those who are no longer physically here.

An ofrenda is more than a collection of beautiful objects. The word itself means offering, and Día de los Muertos ofrendas are created to honor and welcome deceased loved ones. Photographs, candles, cempasúchil, water, foods, drinks, personal belongings, and other meaningful offerings can transform an ordinary table or space into something deeply personal: a place prepared for them.

Ofrenda was created for the ritual work of preparing that space.

Where Cempasúchil focuses on illuminating the pathway and Recuérdame centers remembrance and continuing connection, Ofrenda focuses on the space itself. It can be worked while establishing an altar, cleansing and preparing the area, dedicating it to the people being honored, and setting spiritual boundaries around a place where the living and the dead are intentionally invited to meet.

Protection is an important part of that purpose. Creating space for your beloved dead does not have to mean throwing the doors open to everything. Ofrenda is worked with the intention that the space be welcoming to those being honored while remaining protected and intentionally defined.

Each bottle is handcrafted, ritually worked, and magically charged as part of The Brewery Co.'s Día de los Muertos 2026 Collection. Its blend of flowers, herbs, resins, and tobacco was selected around hospitality, dedication, remembrance, protection, and the creation of sacred space.

Magical Uses

This oil is worked to support:

Botanical & Magical Components

Ofrenda contains a carefully selected blend of Copal, Cempasúchil, Rosemary, Rose, Tobacco, Orange Peel, Rue, and Frankincense, chosen within this formula to support sacred space, protection, welcome, remembrance, and devotional offering.

Copal and frankincense give the blend its ceremonial foundation, while cempasúchil connects the oil directly to Día de los Muertos and the welcoming of the dead. Rosemary centers remembrance, and rose brings love and affection into a formula intended for spaces built for people we continue to care for after death.

Tobacco contributes an offering-oriented element to the work. Orange peel brings warmth and brightness to the space, while rue provides a protective component—helping reinforce the distinction between creating a welcoming space and creating an indiscriminately open one.

Every ingredient has been intentionally selected around the purpose of the oil: to prepare a place with love, define it with intention, and protect what has been made sacred.

Scent Profile

Ofrenda was designed to smell like an altar that has been lived around rather than staged for a photograph: flowers and cempasúchil, tobacco, coffee, a poured drink, something creamy and sweet, incense and a trace of smoke lingering in the room.

Pure Tagetes essential oil gives the fragrance its distinctive cempasúchil character. Solar florals and tangerine add warmth and brightness before the fragrance moves into sweet tobacco, whiskey, black cardamom, and cream. Condensed milk provides a soft, milky sweetness, while freshly brewed coffee adds a dark roasted note underneath. A restrained touch of smoke ties everything together with the impression of candles and incense hanging faintly in the air.

The fragrance was intentionally built around the sensory experience of an offering space—the flowers, the drinks, the coffee, the sweetness, the smoke, and the things placed there because someone you love once loved them.

How to Use

When building an ofrenda:

Use Ofrenda while preparing the physical space before placing photographs and offerings. Dress altar candles or anoint appropriate altar tools and objects while stating who the space is being prepared for and dedicating it to their remembrance.

It can also be used when adding offerings or refreshing an altar throughout the season.

For protection and boundaries:

Work the oil around appropriate points of the altar or on dedicated candles with the intention that the space remain peaceful and protected, welcoming the beloved dead and ancestors being honored without extending an invitation to every spirit that may be present.

For ancestor and remembrance altars outside Día de los Muertos:

Although Ofrenda was created specifically for this collection, its purpose makes it suitable for other personal ancestor and beloved-dead altar work throughout the year.

About This Collection

This collection is for everyone. You do not have to be Mexican or Hispanic to honor your dead, remember the people you love, or find meaning in these traditions. But being welcomed into another culture comes with a responsibility to respect it—to learn where these traditions come from, honor the people who have carried them, listen to and elevate the voices of those within that culture, and embrace the culture rather than separating the beautiful parts from the people they belong to.
